for Peace Action (CFPA) NJ |
Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) is a grassroots
citizens' organization which brings together people of all ages,
backgrounds, professions and political persuasions around three
goals: global abolition of nuclear weapons, a peace economy and
a halt to weapons trafficking at home and abroad. CFPA has a Political
Action Committee that organizes lobbying, demonstrations, vigils,
briefings, and similar activities; and has standing with the United
Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). There are also
currently four active local CFPA affiliates in central and southern
New Jersey. A Steering Committee (board) meets monthly to oversee
and coordinate policy, budget, and programs. Location NJ

issues. The Coalition is made up of people from diverse ethnic,
racial, religious and cultural backgrounds united in their belief
that war is not the answer to terrorism. Location based in DuPage

Jose Peace Center |
San Jose Peace Center was founded in 1957 by individuals
profoundly concerned about the growth of nuclear arsenals and about
atmospheric testing. With the signing of the Limited Test Ban Treaty
in 1963, the Peace Center then spearheaded local efforts to end
the war in Vietnam. When the Vietnam war ended, the Peace Center
then made nuclear disarmament and the development of nonviolence
its primary concerns.
