Cherokee Teaching about Peace
An old Cherokee Chief is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is
going on inside me"; he said to the boy." It is a terrible fight and
it is between two wolves.One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego.The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and
faith.This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other
person too", the grandfather told him.The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his
grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"The old Cherokee Chief simply replied, "The one you feed."

HOW TO ORGANIZE A PEACEAWARE MOVEMENT IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Organize a home meeting in your community. Invite a group of 12 people who have agreed to the Pledge of Non-violent action. PeaceAware will provide one of our organizers to present What is PeaceAware and set you up as an Affiliate Group. We will facilitate a grass roots strategy meeting in which we help you plan weekly Peace Vigils, set up an Interfaith Search for Peace Retreat, a local Teach-In, and a Music and Poetry concert for Peace. Finally, we will share with you how to set up your local by laws and organizing structure and strategy. Our goal is to set up Affiliate groups of PeaceAware in every city in the U.S.A.
